$250 SYC Boat Yard Voucher with our compliments

Friday, 9th October 2020

CORRESPONDENCE TO BERTH RENTERS and LEASE HOLDERS via email on Friday 9 October

Dear Member

I write to you with some good news. As a valued SYC Member and marina tenant, we would like to say thank you.

$250 SYC Boat Yard Voucher
You have occupied a marina berth at SYC right throughout this difficult COVID-19 period and as a small token of our appreciation, please accept with our pleasure a $250 SYC boat yard voucher. There’s no rush to use it as you may redeem it at any point over the next 12 months for direct SYC services you receive in the boat yard on your vessel – travel lift, yard storage, lunchtime slip, gerni and forklift services.

To redeem your $250 voucher, simply advise Karen or Paul when you next book your spot in the boat yard. This email will act as your voucher but you don’t need to present it, simply advise us to use it when your works are undertaken. If you have just come out of the yard and would like to apply it retrospectively, no problem just let us know that is your wish.

Vessel Maintenance
As your boat has been laying idle, I would encourage you to have a listen to the latest edition of our podcast as a number of marine industry professionals join George and Deeksie including Dean Wheeler – Sandringham Marine, Colin Miller – Offshore Marine Electronics, Nick Purvis – Coastline Marine, Macca – Marine & Industrial Rigging and Surveyor Jeff Casley. They talk about the maintenance items you should pay attention to before using your vessel again – you can tune into the podcast here

Lunchtime Slipping Special
A great way to use your voucher would be to use it for our lunchtime slip special. We lift your boat at lunchtime and you / or your rep get an hour to clean the hull with the gerni whilst checking your anodes, prop and antifoul etc. The rates for this work are significantly lower and once you utilise your voucher, the out of pocket expense is nominal

·         30 feet (10m)     $242      less your $250 voucher = $8 credit remaining

·         40 feet (12m)     $283      less your $250 voucher = $33 out of pocket

·         45 feet (14m)     $318      less your $250 voucher = $68 out of pocket

·         50 feet (15m)     $341      less your $250 voucher = $91 out of pocket

Current Restrictions and Trading Hours
Under the current restrictions, we do have some limitations on the type of works that can be undertaken and we fully expect these will be relaxed shortly. Right now, whilst safety related maintenance works can be undertaken, you must use a professional contractor. When restrictions ease further we will be in touch – to view the current restrictions click here

As of this week, the marina and yard office has re-opened 4 days per week and you can call 9599 0901 or call Paul 0407 829 851 to discuss your needs. You can also pop in to fill in your slipping form on Mon, Tue, Wed & Fri from 9:00am – 4:00pm. You can also download the form and submit it electronically – download the slipping form here

Tenants & Contractors
Whilst the voucher cannot be used for any third party costs, if you outsource your work we would encourage you to consider using the services of one of our on-site tenants or registered contractors VIEW THE OF LIST OF TENANTS & REGISTERED CONTRACTORS

There’s only a couple of terms to our offer – it goes directly to you as the boat owner (as the recipient of this email), there is one $250 voucher per vessel, it’s for SYC boat yard services and not third party contractor or non-SYC services and you use it before the end of September 2021.

Thank you again for your incredible support during these difficult times.

Warm Regards & Stay Safe,

Richard Hewett
Chief Executive
