The 2024 Victory Cup was hosted by Sandringham Yacht Club (as the 2023 winners) at Rossdale Golf Club. We had 53 players on the day from 7 Yacht Clubs, including 12 SYC players captained by Past Commodore Ash Trebilcock. Unfortunately last year’s winning Captain was Chris Carlisle and was not with us this year. The weather was fine and the course in good condition and matters proceeded smoothly with tee offs on the first and 10th tees. The best scoring male overall (playing stableford) was our own Ash Trebilcock and the leading lady was Michelle Trebilcock.
For a long time it looked like the Trebilcocks may have bought the bacon home, so to speak, but near the end Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron posted two fine scores
to pip SYC by 1 point 142 to 141.
Congratulations to Blairgowrie on their first ever win, and weren’t they pleased. Many thanks to Andrea Seignior on her able assistance in getting this event happening.
We look forward to 2025 when Blairgowrie are promising an event on one of the peninsula’s finest courses!!
