Another ORCV Stanley race done and dusted, with many of the boats using this race as their qualifier for the 2019 Rolex Sydney to Hobart.
The race with a bit of everything starting with 30+kn on the nose outside the Heads, then settled into mostly a reach/run in around 12-18kn along with a fair bit of rain.
Terrific racing between the three Beneteau First 40’s (Wicked, Bandit & Protagonist) with only a few boat lengths between them the whole. Congratulations to Bandit for slipping past Wicked in the last couple of miles to win the race-within-the-race.
Bandit, Ashley Trebilcock was second in IRC, followed by Mark Welsh’s Wicked, while AMS second went to Daniel Edwards’ recently launched White Noise. White Noise also came third on line honours.
