The Sandringham Yacht Club Annual Fishing Competition went ahead this year despite a 17 knot SW breeze. Although not perfect conditions for some, 30 boats had entered with 72 registered for lunch in the members’ lounge. Considering the unsavoury weather conditions, the event was well supported, and an enjoyable day was had by all those who attended.
The winners are as listed:
1st Tim Pullin (snapper 7.57kgs) Received a hand-held VHF Radio and a rod and reel
2nd Barry Read (snapper 4.0kgs) Received a rod and reel
3rd Jason Gillies (snapper 2.86kgs) Received a rod and reel
The Weirdest Catch Award:
Andrew Read (Gurnet @ .81kgs) Received a rod and reel
