Jetty Road Works

Friday, 29th January 2016

The Bayside City Council will be undertaking pedestrian access improvement works along Jetty Road, Sandringham. The Works will significantly improve general access, safety and pedestrian traffic flow on Jetty Rd including to and from the Club for our Members, Members guests and our various stakeholders.

The outcome of these works will be to improve pedestrian access from Beach Road along Jetty Road to its end by providing a designated pathway with associated new fencing and landscaping features. The new pathway will be located along the southern and western sides of the roadway.

The works will commence on 2 February 2016 with an expected duration of 8 weeks. Works will be carried out generally from Monday to Saturday between the hours of 7am and 5pm (except for during Farmers Market days on which there will be no work). During periods when there are no construction staff on site, it will still be maintained in a safe state.

Parallel & angle parking on Jetty Road’s shoulder will be reduced progressively and remain closed to all traffic until works are finished. Users are being asked to seek alternate parking for this period in car park B6 north of Trevor Barker Oval off Beach Road or in car park B10 immediately south off Beach Road. The unsealed car park B9 off Jetty Road will remain open during construction whenever possible. During the scheduled works period, traffic management bay be used along Jetty Road in order to construct work safely. We have been asked for our patience and co-operation in this matter as there may be delays for pedestrians and vehicles.

The SYC carpark remains unaffected by these works.
